45. PANORAMAS

Some followers asked me for 360° panoramas of the scene. Unfortunately, I cannot get the Ambient Occlusion post processing effect running on these shots and the light is not exactly as accurate as the Unity build for HTC Vive.

Anyway, here are a few shots, thanks Sketchfab 😉

Any estimate for when this is will be out for VR? My Vive is ready!

    admin - July 26, 2017 reply

Most certainly before the end of September… If I can handle it in the same time I develop another project.

So, can we expect this wonderful project any day now? I’m in awe of your hard work and really enjoyed the last build!

    admin - September 3, 2017 reply

    Thank you Theo.
I’m still waiting for a feedback from Warner Bros.
I cannot say much for now but I can already tell you an alpha build is already running for the Vive.

Awesome bro, Even you cannot fully support the Rift motion control you can still support the headset and a game pad.

Very cool, I checked them out yesterday.

Deckard’s apartment windows, has Bright Volume Light slowly sweeping across the room, every 6 seconds or so from
spot lights atop of buildings roofs in the distance.

Is the Volume Light static in you VR version or is it animated?

It is static… but I keep your remark in mind! Thanks Jeremy 🙂

I’m ecstatic to hear you plan on releasing before the end of September! I have been following this project for almost 3 years now. It is my dream VR game. It’s perfect. I have tried and failed many times to capture the feeling of his apartment in different 3D engines, and it’s wonderful to see someone as professional and passionate as yourself be the one to make this dream come true. Keep up the amazing work!

    Q. - August 9, 2017 reply

    Hi Dillon,
Thank you very much for your support and your kind words. It should be ready for end of September/beginning of October.
I just need to deliver a big project before that.

I am also very much looking forward to this, been following the project for a very long time. I am planning on doing my first walk through with a glass of whiskey in hand, slightly intoxicated, as that tends to put me in a nostalgic mood 🙂

    Keep up the good work.

    lol, thank you Johan 🙂

    Hi Quentin,
What locomotion options will there be in the final release?
Fancy teasing us with these 360 photos… I can only imagine how cool this will be in a full rendered environment.

    Stay safe.

    Hi Marcus,
There are 2 locomotion modes for now: Teleporting & Walking Animation.
The second one is a bit hard for the brain… as walking animations in VR provoques motion sickness.
Personally, I prefer the teleport mode 😉

Will this be playable without VR? Because I can’t afford a vive.

    admin - September 3, 2017 reply

It could be done with ease. The project is developed in First Person Mode at start anyway.
I’m not against this idea… just waiting from WB right now.

I prefer walking, had my VR legs for a while now. But either way is fine by me. Just to be able to look around Deckard’s place is going to be stunning. Hope you’ve made a good job on Rachael/Sean.

    Hey Quentin-

I saw The Final Cut 4K remaster at the local Alamo Drafhouse Cinema a couple of weeks ago… fantastic! I’ve probably watched the various versions of BR 100 times since I first saw it during the original theatrical release, but it was like I was seeing it for the first time. I noticed details in both the video and audio that I’d never picked up on before. Well worth your time if it hits your area.

    Hi Quentin

2049 hits the screens soon. Any news on a release date?

    Cheers

    Q. - September 24, 2017 reply

    Hi Marcus,
Yeah… it’s coming… in a few days. I hope it will honor the franchise! 🙂

I’m still waiting for a decision from Warner Bros. They have an alpha build of the scene, as they asked. It seems it takes some time.
Anyway, be sure it will be released as soon as I know what it is point of WB on this project.

Thank you for following the project.

    Marcus - September 29, 2017 reply

Great news. Looking forward to this more than the new film tbh. 🙂
